Central Freetown
The architecture typologies within the centre of the city showcase the most dense and visual diverse styles in the city. From the newly built city centre skyscraper, to Maroon church in the colonial era, you can experience so much of the founding history of Freetown
One of my particular areas of cops during my trip was the central business district in downtown Freetown called Tower Hill. It is the seat of the government of Sierra Leone, as it is home to the State House. Also home to the House of Parliament, the Ministry of Defence and National Security, the Bank of Sierra Leone, the National Electoral Commission and many other government buildings.
This area is a hybrid of both the centre of development and high level employment, is situated close to one of the largest informal settlements in the city Susan’s Bay. This area showcase the larger amount of publicly accessible new builds and is the busiest part of the city
