About Us

At BijouCREATES, we believe in the power of storytelling through design and fashion. Founded by Bijou Harding, a British Architect of Sierra Leonean roots, the brand reflects her passion to honour and elevate traditional West African textiles and craft techniques alongside the influences of a 21st British lifestyle aesthetic to create a beautiful design hybrid.

Creating ethically made fashion accessories that are culturally rich but can easily be integrated into contemporary fashion and styling, giving that special drop of wonder into any look.

2019

Founded in 2019, BijouCREATES launched with its pilot product customisable laptop cases originally designed through paper forms for selecting your custom design

2021

The development of our original website platform and the expansion of BijouCREATES across various e-commerce platforms, such as Etsy, has led to over 1,000 sales!

2022

We launched in our first UK store, Diverse Gifts in Brixton! Later that year, we're expanded into Black Pound Day stores in both London Westfields (White City & Stratford ) to sell in brick & mortar stores!

2023

In 2023, we expanded our product range, we strengthened our commitment to ethical craftsmanship by growing our manufacturing partnerships, providing more opportunities for skilled artisans in Freetown, Sierra Leone.
